Tier Set

• (2pc): Primordial Wave summons a Lightning Feral Spirit that increases your Nature damage dealt by 20% for 15 seconds.
• (4pc): Summoning a Feral Spirit reduces the cooldown of Primordial Wave by 7 seconds.

Single Target

Opener Rotation

• Your goal is to generate and spend as many Maelstrom Weapon stacks as possible without wasting any, while also keeping your relevant abilities on cooldown. Below, you can see an example of how your opener looks like using the recommended build:

• If you are at or below 7 Maelstrom Weapon stacks at the time of the Lightning Bolt, use a Stormstrike beforehand.
• Always get Elemental Blast and Lava Lash on cooldown as quickly as possible.

Priority List

This is a general priority you aim to maintain throughout the fight.

1. Use Primordial Wave on Cooldown.
2. Use Feral Spirit on Cooldown.
3. Use Flame Shock if it's not on your target.
4. Use Lava Lash with Hot Hand.
5. Use Elemental Blast at 5+ Maelstrom Weapon if close to 2 charges.
6. Use Lightning Bolt if Primordial Wave is up.
7. Use Elemental Blast during Feral Spirit at 8+ Maelstrom Weapon.
8. Use Lightning Bolt if at 9+ Maelstrom Weapon.
9. Use Ice Strike on Cooldown.
10. Use Frost Shock to consume Hailstorm.
11. Use Lava Lash on Cooldown.
12. Use Stormstrike on Cooldown.
13. Use Lightning Bolt.
14. Use Frost Shock on Cooldown.

Multi Target

• You need to decide whether to Chain Lightning or Elemental Blast depending on whether single target or AoE damage is more important.

3+ Target Priority List

1. UseLava Lashwith Flame Shock active if you have less than 6 up.
2. Use Primordial Wave on Cooldown on a target without Flame Shock if there is one.
3. Use Feral Spirit on Cooldown.
4. Use Lightning Bolt with Primordial Wave up and 5+ Maelstrom Weapon.
5. Use Elemental Blast at 9+ Maelstrom Weapon on 3 or less targets.
6. Use Chain Lightning at 9+ Maelstrom Weapon.
7. Use Crash Lightning to keep the buff up.
8. Use Lava Lash on different targets to apply Lashing Flames.
9. Use Ice Strike on Cooldown.
10. Use Frost Shockto spend Hailstorm.
11. Use Lava Lash on Cooldown.
12. Use Crash Lightning on Cooldown.
13. Use Stormstrike on Cooldown.
14. Use Elemental Blast at 5+ Maelstrom Weapon on 3 or less targets.
15. Use Chain Lightning at 5+ Maelstrom Weapon.

Feral Spirit

• The most important thing during your Feral Spirit window is to make sure you get to use 2 Elemental Blasts.
• Due to Elemental Spirits, you need to change your priority depending on what wolves you get. As an example, if you get 2x Icy Edge, you might want to prioritize spending Hailstorm stacks. Alternatively, if you get 2x Molten Weapon during Splintered Elements, you might want to repeatedly spam Lava Lash on a priority target.

Min maxing Lashing Flames

• Lashing Flames increases the damage of your Flame Shock on the target by 100%. Your Flame Shock also prioritizes spreading to targets with Lashing Flames active on them. This means that throughout a pull you want to apply Lashing Flames to the most important targets to kill, dangerous mobs, or mobs with the highest health.

Using Chain Lightning vs. Elemental Blast

The way you spend Maelstrom Weapon varies based on the number of targets you are fighting, whether your priority is killing a certain target, or if it is spread damage.

• You use Chain Lightning if
  • You are fighting 3 or more targets and you do not need to focus on killing a certain target.
  • You are fighting 2 targets and Elemental Blast is on cooldown or you do not have Feral Spirit active.

• You use Elemental Blast if
  • There is an important target that needs to die quickly, even if there are more than 5 targets. This would result in less overall damage output but it is worth it to kill dangerous priority enemies.
  • You are fighting 2 targets and Feral Spirit is active.

Understanding Mechanics

Rotational min-maxing is just one aspect of mastering a specialization, but there are numerous other key mechanics that influence your performance. Use the following guides to improve them.

Tertiary

• Avoidance - Great stat to reduce the damage intake of "Area of Effect" abilities.
• Leech - Provides additional healing through damage dealing. The damage of your pets does not heal you thus Leech is a great tertiary for you since most of your damage is coming from your own spells.
• Speed - Niche tertiary that can be very useful and has been proven useful in the past. Makes playing certain mechanics a lot easier.

Trinkets

Below you can find active and passive alternatives to the recommended trinkets. Do note that some trinkets are better than others depending on the scenario.

Active Trinket alternatives

• Manic Grieftorch
  • Has a channel time meaning you have to be able to fully channel the trinket without risking death.
• Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser
  • Slightly worse damage than Manic Grieftorch, but a great option as it does not have a cast time.
• Bandolier of Twisted Blades
  • Very equal to Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser.

Passive Trinket alternatives

• Ominous Chromatic Essence
  • Could be better than Cataclysmic Signet Brand on shorter fights, especially if you have people using multiple stats in your group.
• Whispering Incarnate Icon
  • Great stat stick option, especially if your tank and healer also use it.

Simcraft

• Adaptive Dracothyst Armguards
  • Overall your best option.
• Blue Silken Lining
  • A very strong second choice, it should be crafted on your belt if possible but any other slot such as Neck/Boots is also fine.
• Elemental Lariat
  • If you have low Blue Silken Lining uptime, this may be a better choice as both are very close.

Remaining Sparks

• Make sure to apply Alchemical Flavor Pocket if you have an additional crafted item equipped.
• Crafted items are 525 item level and regular items are 528 on max item level therefore it is not beneficial to equip crafted items outside of your Embellishments unless you don't have access to other high item level gear on that slot.

Phials

• Iced Phial of Corrupting Rage -- Maximum DPS.
• Phial of Tepid Versatility -- Less DPS but more survivability.

Food

• Grand Banquet of the Kalu'ak
• Deviously Deviled Eggs

Combat Potion

• Elemental Potion of Ultimate Power
• Residual Neural Channeling Agent -- Can be used while being dead if your potion is ready.

Health Potion

• Potion of Withering Dreams -- A big burst of healing
• Dreamwalker's Healing Potion -- Less healing upfront but an additional small heal over time.

Weapon Rune

• Enhancement Shamans do not use Weapon runes as they don't stack with Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon.

Augment Rune

• Dreambound Augment Rune -- Requires Reputation
• Draconic Augment Rune

Sockets

• Skillful Illimited Diamond or Fierce Illimited Diamond -- Unique, made by work order
• Keen Ysemerald

For min-maxing an Enhancement Shaman in raiding, different racial traits can provide a tremendous benefit to your characters. If this is not your top goal, picking a race that fits your style works just as well.

• Stoneform -- Dwarf
  • Can dispel Magic and Bleed debuffs. Has been useful in the past on some bosses with Bleeds and dispelable debuffs.
• Rocket Jump -- Goblin
  • A small jump in the direction your character is facing.
  • While in the Rocket Jump animation, you are placed on a global cooldown until your character lands.
• Berserking -- Troll
  • Short haste buff to use together with your Feral Spirit.
  • Reduce the duration of movement impairing effects by 20%. Was only useful once in the recent history of progression raiding but worth noting.
• Blood Fury -- Orc
  • Short main stat increase to use together with your Feral Spirit
  • 20% reduced stun duration on you which can be useful in some situations.

Recommendation

In general, it's safe to say that if you care about min-maxing your DPS you should go with the highest DPS racial. That being said the story is a bit different if it's about progression raiding. Some help out massively to speed up progression on certain bosses. Notably Dwarf with their Stoneform helped out on Tindral Sageswift & Fyrakk the Blazing in the latest Race to World First by having easy access to dispelling yourself at crucial points of the fights mentioned.
